**Hardware Engineer £65 Per Hour (Umbrella) Cheltenham 6 Months Inside IR35** - Responsibilities:_ - Design and testing of new hardware. - Liaising with senior project engineers on technical issues. - Perform ATPs (Acceptance Test Procedures) on new equipment and identify shortfalls or faults. - Perform EMC and environmental testing on new equipment to relevant requirements and identify shortfalls or faults. - Requirements management - Preparing documents for review and release. - Strong documentation around the results, equipment used, and any corrections/updates implemented. - Using laboratory test equipment and measurement techniques during the ATPs and design verification. - Strong analogue electronics design experience. - Have excellent technical problem-solving skills; to be able to assess problems thoroughly and drive logical conclusions (i.e. common-sense approach, not embarrassed to ask the "obvious" questions). - Have experience of working in a team environment delivering products to cost and schedule. - Experience of industry standard tools such as DOORS, SIMetrics simulation and Mentor Graphic schematic capture and PCB layout - Requirements:_ - Experience of safe working in HV Lab Environments. - An understanding of hardware engineering and architectures. - Knowledge of creating and performing testing or qualification activities. - A positive attitude, initiative, pro-activeness and an enthusiasm and passion for engineering. - Good written and verbal communication skills. - Previous experience in a similar role or previous experience in a highly regulated environment (aviation, defence, space) preferable. - Experience of using general test equipment - DMM, Oscilloscope, PSUs, HV PSUs, Load Banks. - Ability to fault find and rectify faults at system and component level preferable.
