Senior Quality Engineer

Working within the Quality Department, the role of Senior Quality Engineer works under the direction of the Quality Management Systems Manger to drive continuous improvement initiatives. They will also ensure the compliance of products to established internaland regulatory standards such as ISO9001, Achilles andother standards as required by the business.

Keeping abreast of current and pending legislation, you will develop and maintain the Quality standards within the business units to ensure such legislation is adhered to and compliance maintained.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Maintain your knowledge and understanding of business compliance requirements, including statutory requirements, industry requirements and supplier compliance requirements.
- Align the Quality Management systems in KUS and Aprenda.
- Devise and implement compliance monitoring processes to identify areas of risk or non-compliance implementing the appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop training materials and processes designed to educate colleagues on the importance of compliance and to share best practice.
- Investigate irregularities, non-compliance issues and customer complaints, implementing the appropriate corrective actions.
- Record and escalate concerns to management.
- Collaborate with other departments to contribute towards a company-wide understanding of and culture of compliance.
- Assist in the gathering of internal information in response to external (supplier or regulator) requests.
- Lead in the renewal certifications process to include ISO 9001, ISO 27001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 as well as Achilles and Lloyds NERS certifications.
- Develop and enable new certifications as per business requirements.
- Undertake regular scheduled audits both onsite against internal operating procedures and online against our management systems.
- Proactively manage quality to reduce the cost impact of poor quality.
- Populate group KPIs for reporting to the senior management team.
- Work closely with external stakeholders to ensure their Quality performance is assessed and continually improving.
- Working with Tendering and other departments to complete customer questionnaires.
- Other compliance or revenue-protection activities as appropriate.

**Qualifications**:

- A degree background in Business, Quality Management, Engineering or possess the appropriate industry experience.
- Internal auditor training and qualification

**Knowledge**:

- Competent in all Microsoft Office tools.
- Proficient in the use of Minitab or an alternative data analysis software.
- Knowledge of Quality systems.
- Working knowledge of business systems.
- Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA).
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and the implementation of its tools.
- Detailed understanding of ISO9001:2015.
- Understanding of ISO 27001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 would be an advantage.
- Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
