About the project
Cadent is the UK's largest Gas Distribution Company owning and operating four of the eight UK Gas Distribution Networks across the East of England, London, North West and West Midlands; spanning over 131,000 kilometres of pipes. Cadent transport gas safely and reliably to 11 million homes across their networks and operate the Gas Emergency Helpline for the whole of the UK. Costain is appointed as the Construction Management Organisation to manage the planning and delivery of the annual network investment programme for the East of England Network, which ranges from Sheffield to Outer London and from the M1 to the North Sea Coast.
We require an experienced Administrator to offer Contract support within the Programme function with planning management and Operations coordination with the local Area Manager.
This role will also involve elements of site wide Office support, management of office resources and IT facilities and our site wide On / Off Boarding.
Please note that this role is office based in Peterborough, with some potential travel requirements, though there will be some flexibility to work.
Key responsibilities
Provide administrative support to the capability function: -- Coordination and arrangement of meetings, workshops and conferences
- Taking minutes of meetings and managing action trackers
- Completion of Push Plan,
- Booking of travel/accommodation for the team
- Coordinating training sessions where required for the team
- Support with the setting up of document control processes, maintaining the IT Asset Register
- Organise new starter inductions and ordering IT Assets for new starters
- General office management within offices provided and maintained by Cadent
- Allocation and tracking of IT assets and PPE issued to staff & suppliers
- Support line managers with raising job vacancies via Cornerstone/Engage
- Co-ordinate & track PPE orders, issue, and replacement. Analyse usage
- Develop and undertake project specific Costain inductions for onboarders, support line managers to ensure that new starters/joiners to the contract have a positive onboarding experience
- Provide & support with training on Costain systems - MyHR, Cornerstone, Concur etc
- Maintaining organisation structures/contact lists
- Collecting/recording IT from leavers and liaising with IT department regarding the return of assets
- Manage training matrix to ensure compliance with gas regulatory standards, ensure line managers are aware of training gaps. Liaise with the Group L&D team
- Support team on 'how to' Costain requirements i.e., PR's, expense submissions etc
- Ad hoc administrative activities as requested by the Framework LT

- Competent in IT skills - Experience of Microsoft Office
- Previous experience within an administration role
