**_Bolton_** **MBDA Missile Systems - Deliver for a more secure tomorrow** **Salary Up to £34,500 **(dependent upon experience) plus bonus and benefits We seek passionate Procurement Officers to join our diverse department, to work collaboratively with our suppliers around the world, enabling MBDA to provide world leading defence capabilities for our home Nations and their Allies. **About Major Equipment Procurement ** MEP manage commercial / business relationships with UK and overseas companies, which provide subsystems, systems, studies and customer support ("Major Equipment"). Our 165 suppliers are located all over the world and are typically the design authority forthe articles procured. Our supplier subcontracts cover the entire life cycle (concept & assessment, development, production, in-service support and disposal) of missiles and missile systems under the responsibility of MBDA UK; this provides us with an excellenttransversal view and offers the MEP team varied opportunities and role progression. **About the Role**: - Pro-actively managing critical supplier subcontracts and obligations - Developing and maintaining long term, open, collaborative and commercially robust business relationships with suppliers - Project management of supplier programmes to ensure the on time, on cost, on quality delivery of bespoke high value / complexity sub-systems and services This specific role is within the Air Dominance and Force Protection team. As part of this role, you will manage mature series production supplier subcontracts and you will undertake activities such as: - ensuring supplier delivery in line with contract obligations to support both Domestic and Export Customers - negotiating value for money future pricing arrangements - bidding for new business and placing subsequent subcontracts - managing supplier obsolescence issues and deploying mitigation strategies **Key aspects of the role**: - Subcontract Management (including drafting, amending, negotiating and managing terms and conditions) in accordance with applicable legislation and company processes - you will have the opportunity to learn this "on the job" - Building and nurturing supplier and key stakeholder relationships - Leading in the internal Multi-Functional Team responsible for the delivery of a sub-contract (consisting of Technical, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Project Management) - Holding the Supplier to account for their performance and resolving any issues / conflicts (hardware, services and documentation) **Who are we looking for?** - Determination: day-to-day problem solving in an exciting commercial environment is a key part, so you will need to be comfortable in asking and answering difficult questions, challenging yourself and others to common goals, organising both people and situations. - Communication: reporting and co-operation with internal and external partners will be frequently required. - Assertiveness: an individual with a can-do attitude who continually seeks way to maximise on opportunities - analyse situations and be adept at understanding and presenting different possibilities, balancing risk. **Experience and Qualifications**: - Experience in contract management - Negotiation in Customer / Supplier environment **What would you get?** The opportunity to develop a broad skillset and experience a wide range of scenarios on a global scale and great opportunities for career progression.
