Our Environmental Regulations & Permitting team have an opportunity for you to join as our new **Abstraction Compliance Specialist.**
You’ll be working with the team to ensure compliance with abstraction licences/permits and to drive continuous improvement across all aspects of abstraction.
Additionally, you will understand the detail within abstraction licences across the company and will use operational data to communicate with multiple teams and ensure that conditions and limits are adhered to.
Some of your other key accountabilities will include:
- Providing technical support on auditing/checking and reporting compliance with daily and annual limits in abstraction licences/permits. Collaborating with multiple teams to identify and deliver solutions to compliance issues
- Ensuring abstraction returns are submitted to regulatory timescales and investigating potential licence breaches to provide a report suitable for audit.
- Providing technical support on compensation flow management
- Ensuring effective relationships and built and maintained with Regulatory bodies including the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, OFWAT and Natural England
- Understanding and driving improvements in our EPA abstraction performance (new shadow measure for 2021) to ensure 4* rating.
- Taking ownership of workstreams for the company abstraction improvement programme to drive continuous improvement across the business
**WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE**
We're seeking our new Abstraction Compliance Specialist to have experience of data analysis and working with large amounts of data as well as having knowledge of water treatment processes and familiarity with environmental licencing and permitting regimes.
To be successful, you will ideally have knowledge of flow monitoring and a working knowledge of corporate systems i.e. TeRI BI, SAP, eSCADA, SCADA, Netbase and Sharepoint.
You will also need to have excellent verbal and written communication, an excellent understanding of data and the ability to communicate information to a range of audiences, including Strategic Leads and external stakeholders and attention to detail, spotting patterns/themes/anomalies.
