**About this role**:
The Johnson & Johnson (J&J) Medical Devices Industrial Design & Human Factors (IDHF) organization is seeking an outstanding multidimensional Designer that has a passion for creating comprehensive systems that deliver a unified user experience across both digital and physical assets.
Our global Design and Human Factors team focuses specifically on advancing the Healthcare Industry by placing our users at the centre of our design process. We craft solutions that span the full episode of care and balance the needs of various users; surgeons, hospital staff, patients and caregivers.
Our team is comprised of Industrial Designers, Human Factors Engineers, UX/Interaction Designers, Information Designers and Design Strategists in over five locations around the globe. Our team partners with R&D and Marketing to build innovative human-centred design solutions that have the global reach to change the lives of billions of people and profoundly change the trajectory of health for humanity.
**Key Responsibilities**:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing Digital UX team, where you will bring strategic systems level thinking whilst also being able to empathically craft and evangelise outstanding UX/UI designs that will genuinely change lives.
Our designers collaborate and partner across all phases of the design journey from needs definition to ensuring design intent is maintained through launch. Our team environment is collaborative, diverse, supporting and committed to harnessing the power of design embedded with superb usability to improve the quality of people’s lives.

- The creation of beautiful, usable and accessible digital products to WCAG 2.1+ AA standards
- Delivering outputs and activities such as; competitive UX benchmarking, generative wireframing, information architecture, interaction design, composing compelling visual storyboards, developing mid to high fidelity UX prototypes, conducting user testing and partnering to generate product animations
- Creating, maintaining and using design systems and integrating software and hardware design to ensure a consistent comprehensive experience
- Strategically leading numerous initiatives with various objectives whilst committing to usability and brand consistency
- collaboration with Product Managers, Marketing and R&D to translate user needs into physical and/or digital assets that are built upon best-in-class usability guidelines and brand considerations
- Partnering with cross-functional colleagues to craft and prepare user test studies to capture and refine design interactions
**Qualifications**
Experience, skills & proficiencies required**:
- BS/BA Degree in User Experience Design, Human-Computer Interaction Design, Industrial Design or a similar relevant field.
- Strong evidence of a digital UX/UI product design background, demonstrable with example work
- Experience of creating, using and maintaining design systems
- Strong systems-thinking with the ability to organise complex data into useful and usable information
- Proficiency with design and rapid-prototyping tools such as; Sketch, Adobe Suite, InDesign, Axure, Figma
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability influence at all levels
- Experience of designing medical devices would be a benefit but not crucial
