We are currently looking for a **Head Cook** to join the Excelcare team at **Wilows Care Home in Great Linford, Milton Keynes.**

Excelcare is a family owned care home group established for over 30 years. Offering great care every day is central to everything we do.

**What you can expect**:

- Salary: £13.60 per hour
- Full time role working from Monday - Sunday. You will be required to work alternate weekends.

**Main Duties**:

- Overall responsibility for the catering services within the Home
- Responsibility for the training, supervision, appraisal, and performance management of the catering team
- Cook using fresh ingredients made from scratch
- Prepare weekly food rotas and menus, paying attention to any special dietary requirements
- Communication of information to senior members of staff relevant to ordering stock and menu planning
- Assist Healthcare Professionals around dietician
- Complying with and developing Risk Assessments
- Maintain quality assurance systems within the kitchen
- Have a full understanding of Health & Safety as well as Food Hygiene issues, COSHH, and working within the guidelines relating to cross infection
- Ensure that the nutritional content of the meals provided cater for the dietary needs of all residents

**What you will need**:

- NVQ Level 2 in Food production and cooking.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a catering background.
- A years’ experience managing a team.
