**Head of Infrastructure**

Head of Infrastructure required for our leading banking client based in London. Our client, a bank with nearly 100 years in the industry and with branches across 5 continents have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Infrastructure to joinon a permanent basis to work alongside the Head of IT in managing the infrastructure team.

The role of the Head of Infrastructure is to manage and support the Server, Desktop, Network and Application environment and the affiliated support staff within IT.
- Deputise for the Head of IT where required and assist the Head of IT with running the department.
- Available for out of hours work where required. On call rota as IT Duty Manager.
- Instils and encourages a service led culture amongst support staff and promotes a professional approach in relations with business users
- Minimises the likelihood of disruption to server/network/desktop operations by establishing a robust and secure architecture, effective standards and a pro-active approach to problem resolution
- Establishes and manages beneficial vendor relationships
- Plays a prominent role in specifying and advising the selection and implementation of server and desktop policies and products
- Responsible for managing fault reporting and for providing effective IT coverage during core business hours through the management of shift patterns and an innovative use of technology
- Both manages and develops junior staff whilst ensuring that training needs are accommodated and that procedural documentation is both accurate and available
- Delivers both strategic and tactical based projects throughout the year.
- Factors and provisions all DR requirements for the business needs.
