Our farm animal Assistants will be part of the team striving to provide the best animal welfare care and holidaying guest experience.
You will play a crucial role ensuring our furry and woolly friends are well looked after whilst interacting with holiday makers.
**Main Responsibilities**
- Care for Brockholes’ furry and wooy family by completing our daily checklists; including feeding, watering, cleaning out, bedding up, bottle washing and the general well-being of our animals.
- Cleaning tools and equipment
- Cleaning and disinfecting feeding bowls, troughs and water containers
- Assist in the safe handling of animals, moving the animals between fields and into the barn
- Participate in giving cottage guests meet and greets with the animals
- Report any ill health or unusual animal behaviour to the day supervisor
- Make sure the site is presentable and tidy throughout the day.
- Making sure resources and facilities are replenished, and the animal areas are maintained to a high cleaning standard.
- To be polite and friendly to all visitors and work colleagues to make our visitors feel welcome, thereby ensuring the quality of the visitors’ experience on that day.
- Maintain the highest standards of practice as advised by the Health & Safety Executive to protect the public from any animal related diseases.
- **Personal Qualities**:
- Have strong verbal communication and able to interact with both visitors and staff.
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to a changing working environment
- Commitment to the values and vision of the farm
- Able to work unsupervised and to take initiative
- Be prepared to get dirty
- Be aware that this job involves outside working in all weathers
