**Role: Temporary Works Coordinator**

**Location: Scunthorpe**

**Salary: £45,000 + Package**

Our client a TIER 1 Main Contractor delivers new build, refurbishment and associated fit-out works, with particular expertise in the education, healthcare, industrial, air, retail, commercial and mixed-use sectors, seek to appoint a Temporary Works Coordinatoron a permanent basis for secured works in the Yorkshire region.

**Duties**:

- On a day-to-day basis provide guidance and advice to the business on compliance with statutory requirements and company standards
- To provide advice and guidance on engineering solutions as required.
- Designing and preparing design drawings and specifications for a range of temporary works.
- Proactively working with operational teams during the project
- Where required undertaking design checks on designs prepared by others.
- Checking and signing off temporary works on site and completing relevant permits as required e.g. Permit to Load.
- Liaising with other departments/teams to provide input on engineering challenges/solutions.
- Providing engineering advice as required
- Assisting with the appointment of contractors who will be undertaking temporary works or complex permanent works.
- Other engineering tasks as may be required.
- Highlighting areas where poor practice and/or significant risk have occurred
- Investigating incidents and producing detailed factual reports identifying root causes and recommendations for improvement
- Keeping up to date with new legislation and best practices in the industry through regular reading of journals and relevant website/ site visits

**Qualifications / Relevant Experience**:

- A relevant civil or structural engineering degree.
- Membership of a relevant professional body e.g. MICE
- Experience of designing and checking temporary works e.g. propping, falsework scaffolding, crane bases etc.
- Knowledge of the relevant design codes and standards applicable to temporary works.
- Good understanding of geotechnical issues and design.
- Experience of using IT solutions for preparing and checking designs.
- Use of Autocad.
- A valid CSCS card
- Good at developing relationships with Operational Leadership at all levels of the management structure
