**Empowering Learning are currently recruiting a Pastoral Administrator on behalf of a Rochdale based secondary school. The school has recently become part of a wider trust and is looking to expand its Pastoral team on its way to becoming outstanding.**

**The school is at the centre of the community and the Pastoral Administrator role would be suitable for someone with admin experience or a recent graduate.**

**Purpose of this Pastoral Administrator role**:
To support the Pastoral Heads of Years, providing administration and assistance to deliver an efficient and effective pastoral service to students, parents/carers and staff.

**KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS PASTORAL ADMINISTRATOR ROLE**:

- To provide administration support to the Deputy Head (Pastoral), Heads of Key Stage 3 and 4, the attendance team and Heads of Year.
- To assist in the administration of pastoral tasks, including attendance, call-outs, exclusions and student support (student services).
- To complete daily pastoral tasks, including the Lates Log and communication with parents about late and on-call detentions
- To assist Heads of Key Stage 3 and 4 in the administration of the Academy Behaviour Log.
- To update the academy MIS as and when student/parent/carer details changes are necessary.
- To assist in the organisation of academy events, attending out of hours parents' evenings as necessary.
- To contact parents/carers and other external agencies as directed by the Heads of Key Stage 3 and 4, the attendance team and Heads of Year.
- As and when required, to assist with the academy's drive on improving attendance, including home visits as necessary and telephone calls to parents about attendance or punctuality matters as directed by the attendance team.
- To assist the pastoral and attendance teams in providing a high quality, customer focused service, which upholds and supports the academy's policies and procedures.
- To support the Academy Improvement Plan by actively reviewing and developing current systems.

**SUPPORT FOR THE ACADEMY**:

- Be aware of and comply with the academy's policies and in particular the procedures relating to child protection, attendance, behaviour, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection. Report all concerns to an appropriate person (as namedin the policy concerned).
- Contribute to the academy's ethos, aims and development/improvement plan.
- Appreciate and support the role of other professionals.
- Attend relevant meetings as required.
- Participate in training and other learning activities as required.
- Assist with the organisation, routines and upkeep of the working environment.

**General Responsibilities of this Pastoral Administrator role**:

- The post-holder must ensure, full commitment to the Academy/Trust vision, values and key priorities.
- The post-holder must perform their duties in accordance with the academy's Equal Opportunities Policy.
- To comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
- To be aware of, support and ensure equal opportunities for all.
- To appreciate and support the role of other professionals.
- To contribute to the Academy/Trust ethos, aims and development/improvement plan.
- To attend meetings within the Trust, at its Academies and external events as required.
- To participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required.
- To recognise own strengths and areas of expertise and use these to advise and support colleagues.
- To assist with the organisation, routines and upkeep of the working environment.
- To support with administrative duties as required.
- To maintain confidentiality always in respect of academy-related matters and to prevent disclosure of confidential and sensitive information.
- Other duties, commensurate with the grade of the post.
- To ensure strict confidentiality in all areas of work.
- To work and process personal and sensitive information in accordance with Data Protection Act 2018 including the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) 2018.
- To understand and comply with the statutory guidance regarding safeguarding of children, ensuring the safeguarding and promotion of children's welfare at all times and reporting any concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Officer immediately.
- The post-holder will work across the Trust and spend time at each of the Academies, when required.
- The post-holder will be expected to carry out their duties with due regard to current and future Academy/Trust policies, procedures and relevant legislation. These will be drawn to the post-holder's attention during the recruitment process, induction, staffcode of conduct, ongoing performance development and through Trust communications.

For this Pastoral Administrator role you must have the following:
At least one year of experience of working in an admin role, ideally in a school setting although appropriate other sectors will be considered

Experience of SIMS is highly desirable although not essential and training can be provided for the right person

Be able to provide two most recent professional references

Have full right to work in the UK.
