General Summary
Performs a variety of functions to receive and ship parts, materials including the operation of FMS, equipment and supplies; verify accuracy and condition of such items and conformance to shipping procedures; report daily shipping and receiving activities; construct boxes, crates, skids, frames, etc., for use in packaging or securing items for shipment; spots and secures items on carriers; and requisition, check, store, disburse or fill orders for parts, materials, tools, equipment and supplies. Operates relevant vehicles or appropriate to do interplant/ internal hauling or hauling to and from out-of-plant locations. Sets up, operates and adjusts special engraving machines to produce information panels for generator sets.
Involves the use of some power tools, hand tools, and some checking equipment.
Principal
**Responsibilities**:
1.Shipping and receiving parts, materials, equipment and supplies.
2.Verifying the accuracy and conditions of such items and conformance to shipping procedures.
3.Constructing boxes, crates, skids, frames, etc., for use in packaging or securing items for shipment.
1.Operating truck to do interplant hauling or hauling to and from out-of-plant locations.
2.Training other employees if and when required.
3.Any other appropriate duties.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
1.The ability to read, write, comprehend and follow verbal instructions and the ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations in order to perform the duties described above.
2.Uses elementary hand and power tools to perform the duties above.
3.HGV drivers must posses a Heavy Goods Vehicle license.
4. Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures. Job is performed in accordance with procedures and instructions.
Reporting Relationships
Reports to: Supervisors and Lead Operators.
