This role will see you travelling across the picturesque Wessex Water region in the Somerset and Dorset areas. A company vehicle and all tools needed to carry out the role will be provided.

**The job**

We have a specialist team which schedules and carries out the regulatory sampling programme for the water services we provide to 1.3 million people in the south west of England. In addition, we provide sampling and analytical services to a range of customers, including business, local authorities, drinking water providers and environmental consultants.

We are looking for a Water Quality Inspector to join our expanding team. Within the role your main duties will include driving across the Wessex Water region, taking water quality samples from a variety of sources including rivers, treatment works, reservoirs and customer properties. You’ll meet customers as you travel and will interact with them from time to time whilst carrying out your duties.

This role is critical to our business as we comply with industry regulations and provide our customers with a high-quality service. You will mainly work Monday to Friday, but you will also be required to work a rota which involves bank holidays and some weekend work.

**The ideal person**

The good news is, we will train you.

You will be someone who loves travelling around and have a positive, hardworking and flexible approach. You will be organised, able to prioritise and have good attention to detail, while also having previous experience in an outdoor role and providing excellent customer service.

Ideally, you will be computer literate and confident using Microsoft Word and Excel. Previous water industry experience would be desirable.

A full clean manual driving licence and confidence in driving to rural sites is essential, as well as living within a 30-minutes commute from the nearest depot.
