The occupational therapist works in a strength based and person centred way. Our teams are grouped to be place-based and this allows integrated working with multiple stakeholders, the person, the district council grants team, architects, project managers, building contractors. Some of this Disabled Facilities Grant work is enhanced administration, and this distracts the occupational therapy workers away from their primary role of assessor. These new service advisor roles will support the occupational therapy workers with this enhanced administration aspect.

For this role the service advisors will support to:

- Contact people to see if their needs have changed whilst waiting to speak with an OT and update Mosaic case files.
- Screen and prioritise people waiting for a conversation with an OT, with the support of OT.
- Liaise with District Council grant officers and their admin teams to chase progress on DFG cases in the design and delivery phases.
- Schedule and book adaptation site visits with OT, architect and grant technical officers.
- Request site visits with equipment representatives on the OTs instruction.
- Request, chase, or clarify quotes on the OT instruction.
- Attend any DFG panel meetings to gather updates on progress or decisions.
- Collate the county council DFG discretionary shortfall financial requests.
