Our One Planning Compliance Team is key to giving integrity to the planning system, investigating breaches of planning control, and ensuring compliance with planning permissions.
Your strong problem solving, negotiation and communication skills will enable you to effect positive outcomes on breaches of planning control; working alongside complainants, applicants and stakeholders to remedy breaches. You will have a good working knowledge of the suite of enforcement tools and legislation to inform your work and take any formal action necessary.

What you'll be doing...
*Investigating complaints of alleged breaches of planning control by site inspections, interviewing developers, witnesses, researching of planning history, legislation relative to complaint/breach and preparing factual reports, with plans and photographs.
*Preparing and giving evidence at public inquiries and in the courts.
*Maintaining a computerised record system and filing systems, including the collation of performance information and statistics.
*Preparing reports, witness statements, required in connection with the enforcement of planning control, and letters in connection therewith.
*Researching case law, when necessary.
*Serving all statutory enforcement and similar notices, including high court injunctions and the service of summonses.
*Carrying out all checks for compliance with statutory notices within the terms of the notice and, if in breach, taking appropriate action, including contact with developers, preparation of prosecution papers, organising and taking direct action to secure compliance.
