Children's Residential Support Worker

**Job Overview**
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing assistance and care to children, ensuring their well-being and supporting their development. You will be responsible for implementing care plans and facilitating activities that promote learning and growth. This position requires excellent communication skills, a compassionate nature, and the ability to work collaboratively with families and other professionals.
**Duties**
- Assist children with daily living activities, including personal care and hygiene.
- Implement individual care plans tailored to each child's needs.
- Support children in educational and recreational activities to enhance their learning experiences.
- Communicate effectively with children, families, and team members to ensure a cohesive support network.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and any incidents that may occur.
- Drive to various locations as required to provide support or attend meetings.
- Utilise IT skills for documentation and communication purposes.
**Working Pattern**
The rota works on a 6 week cycle, based on a continuous rolling rota covering all days of the week. 3 teams of 2 people cover the shifts.
You will work 2 and a half days, followed by 3.5 days off, example as follows:
Shift 1 - 10am to 10pm
Shift 2 - 6.30am to 10pm
Shift 3 - 6.30am to 10am.
You will then have 3 full days off, before working the same pattern again.
Within the 6 week cycle, it includes 2 full weekends off.
Sleeps are paid at the equivalent rate of £45 per sleep and are included within the salary offered.
**Qualifications**
- Previous experience working with children is essential.
- Understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
- Strong communication skills to engage with children and their families.
- IT proficiency for record keeping and reporting tasks.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for travel between locations.
- A background in childcare or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Full UK Driving Licence
