**About the role**

You will be expected to positively support and assist the Senior Technician, Service Manager and Equipment Support Manager (ESM) in achieving positive engineering and non-engineering outcomes within specified timeframes. Expected to monitor own performanceensuring you perform to the highest standard. To carry out routine and bespoke servicing, maintenance, fault diagnosis mechanical/electrical and hydraulic repair and modification to a wide range of advanced military wheeled (heavy, light) and tracked vehiclesIn accordance with MOD policies and procedures.

**Main Tasks**:

- Responsible for conducting in depth diagnostic, engineering and electrical work on wheeled (heavy & light) vehicles including tracked vehicles, Training Aids and associated miscellaneous equipment's.
- Responsible and expected to use experience and skillset to inspect, service, repair and maintain a wide variety of familiar and unfamiliar vehicle platforms (wheeled heavy, light and tracked) and training aids using modern repair techniques, skills andtechnical documentation available achieving positive outcomes and results.
- Responsible and expected to read and utilise repair manuals, spares lists and modern diagnostic schematics through modern media assets as required.
- Responsible and expected to ensure all JAMES Job Cards are completed accurately and correctly for all servicing, maintenance and repair activities conducted, including responsibility for the completion of associated testable element evidence.
- Responsible and expected to ensure all JAMES Job Cards and testable element evidence is submitted to Supervisor/Service Manager for audit purposes.
- Responsible and expected to be proficient at problem solving using technical knowledge and experience to obtain positive outcomes and results
- Responsible and expected to work efficiently in a timely manner to achieve set targets and specific deadlines set by Senior Technician and Service Manager to achieve positive results and outcomes.
- Must be able to operate as an individual and within a team displaying positive behaviours in order to achieve positive results and outcomes.
- Expected to mentor apprentices or assist the appointed mentor as required.
- Adhere to internal and external Health & Safety policies or initiatives as directed by Senior Technician, Service Manager or other Line Managers.
- To be enthusiastic, reliable and driven striving to deliver their best with the ability to support and encourage colleagues to achieve the same high standards.

**What do I need to do the role?**

**Essential**:

- A recognised qualification in Automotive Engineering with a minimum IMI or C&G level 3 or BTEC/IMI/NVQ equivalent or has served in HM Armed Forces as a Vehicle Mechanic/Technician Class One.
- Diagnostic Technician qualification or at least 2 years proven diagnostic experience
- Hold a current category 'B' license
