**About The Role**:
**UNLOCK YOUR BEST WORK LIFE**
**+ make a difference for every patient**
We’re looking for a caring, adaptable, and proactive Theatre Healthcare Assistant to join our busy operating theatre team. This is your chance to work alongside skilled nurses, operating department practitioners, and surgeons, contributing directly to high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, rewarding environment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our theatres run smoothly, while supporting patients and their families throughout their surgical journey.
This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours a week, with shifts between Monday and Sunday.
**What you'll be doing**:
As our Theatre Healthcare Assistant, you will be:
- Assisting registered nurses and operating department practitioners in delivering safe, effective care in line with agreed plans.
- Supporting patients with empathy and dignity before, during, and after procedures.
- Helping maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked theatre environment.
- Preparing and cleaning equipment between cases, assisting with patient transfers, and ensuring stock levels are maintained.
- Liaising with suppliers about stock and supporting the theatre stock control process.
- Participating in regular theatre meetings, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Following infection control, health & safety, and data protection guidelines at all times.
- Taking part in training and personal development to continually build your skills.
**What we’ll look for in you**:
With your previous experience in a healthcare assistant or caring role, ideally within an operating theatre setting, you will also have:
- A compassionate approach and commitment to patient dignity, respect, and confidentiality.
- Ability to prioritise workload, work within defined boundaries, and use your initiative.
- Strong team working skills and clear communication with colleagues, patients, and relatives.
- Flexibility, a positive attitude, and willingness to learn new skills.
- A good standard of literacy, with NVQ Level 2/3 in operating department support or IT training desirable.
What you can expect in return;
- A salary of £23,809.50 per annum
- An extensive range of wellbeing and lifestyle benefits
- 25 days annual leave (increasing with service) plus bank holidays
- Flexible shifts that enable you to work around other commitments
- The support you need to grow in your role
Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
