Build your career, follow your passion, be inspired by our environment of success. #BeTheChange
The University of East London is one of the most diverse and vibrant universities in the global capital. Our pioneering and forward-thinking vision is making a positive and significant impact to the communities we serve, inspiring both our staff and students to reach their full potential.
We are looking to appoint a Student Life Programmes Officer to join the Student Life team to help create and implement extra-curricular activities and learning pathways for all students, in partnership with Schools and Services.
The Student Life Programmes Officer will focus on both term-time enrichment activities and the curation of pathways through the East London Edge programme. The post-holder will help to create social vibrancy, annual traditions, campus culture and a strong sense of community belonging.
The Student Life team delivers welcome and orientation activities, extra-curricular programmes, student campaigns and events, and support for the international student experience. Its work incorporates all aspects involved with these activities, including market research, digital content creation, event and project management, post-project reviews, data analysis and reporting. The team works with colleagues across Student Services, whilst also maintaining cross-institutional partnerships in academic schools, professional services, and our Students’ Union.
Beyond planning a suite of sessional events, the Student Life team works across areas to facilitate an environment in which students can learn, explore, and grow. Our aim is to animate the Campus space, extend UEL into the community, and introduce student-centred vibrancy that allows learners to engage with the various services. Increasing meaningful and transformative student engagement is the goal of our work.
Our belief is that University life should be transformative for each student and that extracurricular engagement allows students to develop into well rounded individuals, who will grow to impact the workforce and broader society in meaningful ways. More importantly still, these opportunities allow students to discover and develop who they are as individuals and as members of communities, in a supportive environment.
The Student Life Programmes Officer is Integral to this vision.
