Job Introduction
An exciting opportunity to join our Land Department and be an integral part of our **Merseyside region.** We are looking for a Land Buyer to join the land team **based in St Helens**. You will ideally have experience of working within the house building industry as part of a team securing sites for residential development. It’s an exciting time to be a part of Gleeson Homes, having achieved our medium term objective of doubling home sales within five years by completing the sale of 2000 homes during the last year.

Main Responsibilities
As a Land Buyer you will be involved in the sourcing of land and the securing of new sites for development that will meet or exceed Gleeson Homes regional forecast performance. You will be an integral part of the team to see acquisitions through the legal process and collaborate on obtaining satisfactory planning approvals on sites.
- Supporting the Head of Land with identifying and securing land within West Yorkshire.
- Provide to the executive board detailed land bids for potential sites that demonstrate the company’s requirements.
- Agree HOTs and purchase land to ensure continuity of land supply to meet future forecasts.
- You will develop your understanding of legal agreements, Liaise with legal representatives and advise on the legal status of developments.
- Work closely with and brief design teams, external consultants, and internal departments to ensure the successful delivery of planning on sites.

- Knowledge of planning requirements and housing policies
- Commercially aware
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- Team player
- IT Literate (Microsoft Office)
- Although not essential it would be advantageous to have knowledge of land buying in the South Yorkshire region.
