JG Pears (Newark) Ltd is a very progressive and successful animal by-product processing Company supplying bulk proteins and fats to major brands in the pet food and aquaculture industries as well as biofuel producers. The Company has progressed in production over the years due to substantial and continual investment in both new plant and professional staff. The Group is growing with processing sites at Low Marnham (near Newark), Market Harborough and Bradford, a renewable fuel based Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant, and plans to generate a Green Business Park at High Marnham which will include cutting edge renewable energy technologies.

**Graduate Environmental Officer**

We are seeking an Environment & Safety Officer to join the team based at our Low Marnham site near Newark, Nottinghamshire covering both rendering and CHP facilities, both of which are permitted and regulated under the Environmental Permitting Regulations. Working hours include Monday to Friday 8am-5pm.

**Responsibilities**:

- Reporting into the Head of Safety, Health, Environment & Sustainability, you will assist in developing and implementing environmental and safety strategies, producing action plans and collating data.
- You will assist initially with the compliance of environmental legislation and liaise with relevant bodies such as the Environmental Agency, public and other certified bodies.
- Audit, analyse and report on environmental and safety issues, internally and externally, and carryout assessments and promote awareness through policies and procedures.
- The team are responsible for continuous improvement and maintaining of ISO 14001 Environmental Management systems across the Group’s sites and internal auditing of the Safety Management systems.
