You will also be responsible for providing training and development support to Member Support Officers in relation to the Local Government Pension Scheme and Firefighters’ Pension Schemes, including induction, training and development of new staff in the Member Support Team.

The main duties include:

- _ Day to day responsibility for advising and supporting Member Support Officers to respond to queries accurately and on time. _
- _To develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and policies to be able to inform the Member Support Team and make any relevant changes/updates _
- _Develop training modules and assist Team Leaders/Managers with reviewing and writing procedures to ensure core processes and procedures across the Fund are adhered to_
- _Develop and maintain a suitable library of training material and make available to all staff as a key resource to support business operations_
- _Maintain accurate records of training completed by staff and a register of identified training needs_
- _Monitor LGA Bulletins and regulation changes to ensure Member Support Team provide accurate responses to queries in accordance with current regulations._

You will need to demonstrate:

- _Thorough knowledge and comprehension of the regulations and best practice in relation to the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), the Firefighters’ Pension Schemes (FPS) and other relevant legislation and government guidance_
- _Good experience of undertaking and checking pension benefit calculations plus providing feedback_
- _Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex information to a high professional standard_

In this role, you will be expected to be proactive and forward thinking in developing new ways of providing support to pension scheme members and delivering often complex pension information and training to Pension Fund officers.
