Software Engineer Apprentice

Wilson James has a fantastic opportunity for you to join the Wilson James Technology Services team as a Software Engineer Apprentice. Technology Services provides electronic security & smart building tech design, installation, and ongoing maintenance supportservices for their extensive client list. Their people are their most important asset and the package they have put together reflects this to make sure they don’t miss out on the right people. Creating new integrations, dashboards and customising software,this role is vital to maintaining our strong relationships with their clients whilst delivering a trusted and dependable service. Wilson James are looking for a Software Developer apprentice with a willingness to learn. You will not only receive training fromyour provider but internally from the Technology Services team.
A typical day,
- You will be writing code for APIs, SDKs and Macros to integrate and share data between systems.
- You will be writing code for front end dashboards / web interfaces
- You will be taught the principles of good user interface design.
- You will use basic analysis models such as using cases and process maps.
- You will be involved in unit testing.
- You'll have a whole team to rely on and will be coached by our field experts & engineers.
- Any additional reasonable duties requested by operational management
You must have,
- GCSE English & Maths 4-9 (C-A*) or equivalent
- Level 3 qualification (A level, BTEC or equivalent)
- Three months' prior coding experience

- You'll want to learn new skills and will be keen to expand your knowledge of technology
- Have an ability to deliver succinct and clear verbal and written reports where necessary
- Maintain a high standard of personal presentation
- Demonstrate reliability including the ability to deliver high standards of both punctuality and attendance to ensure team effectiveness and availability
- Able to demonstrate an ability to work as part of a team.
- An interest in and commitment to the work of Wilson James for its clients
