**Brief Description**:
Route Businesses plan, operate and maintain the railway day-to-day. Our business units - 'routes' - work closely with our customers, and are accountable for improving customer service, safety, and performance, as well as providing a value for money railway.

This position will report to the Project Manager (Change) who sits within the Wales Route Access Planning and Delivery team.

**About the role (External)**:
**Key Accountabilities**

As Project Leader (Change) you will lead the development and delivery of change projects to agreed scope, time, cost and quality requirements, working with Function Directors, Executive Sponsors and their representatives.

**The key accountabilities of the role are summarised as follows**:
1. You'll agree remit and success criteria of change projects with the relevant Executive Sponsors and Functional Directors.

2. You'll manage the development and delivery of change projects in compliance with company processes and procedures.

3. You'll lead the production of project management plans for change projects.

4. You'll establish and manage collaborative cross-functional virtual teams to deliver change projects, where appropriate,

5. You'll deliver regular progress reports on change projects, including relevant risks and issues, to Executive Sponsors and Functional Directors.

6. You'll manage project budgets within agreed targets.

7. You'll promote and monitor the use of efficiency improvement methods.

8. You'll disseminate lessons learnt.

**Do you have?**

Essential
- Experience of working in change projects
- Very good knowledge of/experience in the UK rail industry
- Very good IT literacy (Microsoft suite Word, Excel, PPT, Visio as a minimum)
- Excellent communications skills
- Stakeholders management skills
- Good understanding of Access Planning & operations Delivery processes

Desirable
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Member of project association
- Knowledge of Coral Draw
- Commercial and financial awareness
- Knowledge of the principles of investment processes and procedures
- Managing a suite of KPIs
- Working knowledge of planning standards 202, 303, 019
- Understanding of Maintenance Planning Handbook

**Salary**: £32,740 - £36,832
**Please note this is a 12 month fixed term contract
