Butler Rose Procurement are delighted to be partnered with a global business. This role offers great growth potential as the clients Global Procurement remit continues to grow, several employees have enjoyed recent promotions within the procurement team and a vacancy now exists for a buyer/procurement specialist. The buyer will support the procurement of direct and indirect materials, services, and capital equipment to support business requirements, working with business partners, external suppliers and third parties to ensure supply for manufacturing.
In this role the buyer will be working closely with planning and production to meet manufacturing needs and ensuring suppliers meet SAL and KPIs. Planning categories, challenging cost, value and lead times to deliver requirements whilst working with suppliers to secure supply, streamline and source new supply to meet demand of both current and NPI requirements.
**Responsibilities**:
- Building and maintaining excellent relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Engage with existing suppliers, to identify opportunities for rationalisation, consolidation, and cost reduction for nominated spend categories
- Negotiation with potential suppliers and responsible for negotiating major and unusual purchases.
- Review and rationalisation of suppliers
- Strategic sourcing for local projects
- Support inventory optimisation
- Assist in implementing P2P Policy
- Relative experience gained in a manufacturing busy and dynamic procurement environment
- Strong inventory management experience
- MRP experience
- Analytical skills and knowledge of analytical tools
- Strong, clear communicator
- Great interpersonal skills
- CIPS or Supply Chain qualification preferred
