Our client specialise in roofing, cladding and building facades and they operate throughout the UK on both industrial and commercial projects. Their portfolio of projects proudly boasts some of the construction industry’s most prestigious and award-winning buildings. They work closely with clients and suppliers, offering a full project service from inception, through the design process to installation and completion.

Due to company growth, our client are now looking for a Senior Buyer. As Senior Buyer, you will play a vital role in the company, supporting the contracts team by taking responsibility for the client’s larger schemes and customers. Buying materials and equipment needed for the successful completion of schemes on budget and to agreed timeframes. You will build relationships with suppliers and peers to ensure you fully understand the brief and are well equipped to make the best decisions when buying materials to secure the best prices and lead times.

**Senior Buyer - Position Overview**
- Taking responsibility for buying materials for larger schemes and customers
- Overseeing the buying team offering advice and support to the buyers to ensure processes are followed and best practise is shared
- Identifying opportunities to bring on new suppliers considering cost efficiency and service
- Monthly reporting to Pre-construction manager
- Supporting the pre-construction manager with successfully implementing the buying strategy
- Attending tender handover meetings and reviewing the handover packages including material quotations, data sheets and tenders to ensure you have all the relevant information
- Assisting the Contracts Managers with the material approval process to ensure a smooth handover
- Organising deliveries of materials and equipment with the relevant Contracts Manager to confirm locations, timeframes, and budgets
- Updating the material order schedule to assist the Contracts Managers with scheme delivery and programme
- Reviewing the supplier delivery schedules to group deliveries together and increase the efficiency of lead times and delivery costs
- Highlighting any concerns or delays over material lead times to the relevant Contracts Managers and Senior Management where necessary
- Raising Technical Queries alongside approval of materials

**Senior Buyer - Position Requirements**
- A strong negotiator
- Multiple Years’ experience in a similar role
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Well organised, and confident dealing with multiple deadlines
- A good team player and strong communicator

**Senior Buyer - Position Remuneration**
- £35,000 - £50,000
- Company Pension
