Job Introduction
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Works Co-ordinator to join the team based in Portsmouth. The role will be to assist our structures team with the delivery of various schemes in the Portsmouth area.
Main Responsibilities
You will be diverse and have the ability to Instruct and over see Sub Contractors and direct labour forces in delivery of schemes in association with Structures. You will be available to work at night / Week ends in some instances if the job dictates. You will be required to carry out surveys on various structures prior to Structures General and Principal inspections. You will ensure free access and cleanliness of the structure and make sure that works are undertaken by direct labour teams, within the Highways division prior efficiently and safely. Once the Principal and General inspections are undertaken, you will be expected to assist the Structures team in the delivery of any maintenance / major works identified from those inspections. You will be willing to carry out other appropriate duties as assigned by the line manager and ensure all activities are undertaken with due regard for the environment, to prevent pollution, comply with legal and corporate requirements and minimise environmental impact.
