**Detached Youth Worker / Outreach Worker**

We are seeking an exceptional detached youth worker within the Youth and Community field (Level 3 Desired) who has experience of delivering street-based youth work; to join our pool of youth workers across both afternoon and evening delivery, from

The Detached Youth Team will need to:

- assess young people's needs
- provide brief interventions (Anti-Social Behaviour and Youth violence)
- support young people in accessing services that assists young people back into education and employment
- organise activities and engage young people into activities away from anti-social behaviour.

**As a Detached Youth/Outreach Worker, you will**:

- Be responsible for engaging young people and register them onto diversionary activities, interventions on designated afternoon/nights from
- Contribute to planning afternoon/evening sessions with the team you will be working with
- Support the completion of the debrief sessions at the end of the evening and collate data to report back to the Senior Detached Co-ordinator
- Identify young people who want to volunteer, to increase the reach of the service to vulnerable young people who do not access mainstream services
- Build effective relationships with other local agencies and always be on the lookout for partnership work

**As the Detached Youth Worker, you will need to have**:

- Proven experience of working as either a detached or building based youth worker
- The ability to engage with young people with challenging behaviour and attitudes
- A recognised youth or community work qualification (Level 3 is desirable) and extensive experience of delivering a detached youth work provision that engages young people from a variety of diverse ethnic groups and cultural backgrounds
- An understanding of the principles of youth intervention and the diverse needs of excluded children

**Job Types**: Permanent, Part-time
Part-time hours: 25 per week

**Salary**: £12.50 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
