We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Picking and Packing Assistant to join our dynamic team at The Handmade Scotch Egg Co, a leading producer of handmade food products, including Scotch Eggs, Quiches, Regatta Pies, Sausage Jumble Rolls, and Charcuterie. As a Picking and Packing Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products are accurately picked, packed, and prepared for delivery, maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and hygiene.

Transport is required as we're in a rural location, with very limited public transport. Lots of free parking is available on site. Hours are Monday to Thursday 7am to 3pm

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Accurately pick and pack a variety of food products (Scotch Eggs, Quiches, Regatta Pies, Sausage Jumble Rolls, Charcuterie) according to customer orders and production schedules.
- Ensure all items are packed securely and in accordance with company guidelines, with attention to product safety and presentation.
- Inspect products for quality control, ensuring that all products meet the required standards before packaging.
- Label products with the correct packaging information, including expiry dates, product codes, and any necessary handling instructions.
- Maintain a clean and organized packing area, ensuring a hygienic and efficient working environment.
- Assist with inventory control, ensuring stock levels are monitored and recorded accurately.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Follow all food safety and health & safety regulations while handling products.
- Perform regular stock checks and assist with the rotation of stock to minimize waste.

**Key Skills & Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in a similar picking and packing role, preferably within a food production environment, is advantageous.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing high-quality products.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and practices.
- Strong communication and team-working skills.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing production needs.
- A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.25 per hour
