**Job Title: Refrigeration Supervisor**

**Location: Glasgow, Edinburgh & surrounding area's**

**Salary: £54,546 (this includes on call allowance - 1 week in every 4)**

**Permanent - 40 hours a week - Monday to Friday**

**On Call of 1 week in every 4**

**Job Purpose**:
To ensure the maintenance and repair of all Refrigeration plant and equipment in Asda stores to pre-determined standards in an efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst complying with the laid-down Company Health and Safety policy.

Reporting on service & financial performance issues to the National Refrigeration Manager & Refrigeration Operations Manager.

**Key Accountabilities**
- To carry out the duties and responsibilities of the Refrigeration Engineer if required - as prescribed in the Refrigeration Engineers job description
- To provide cover for Refrigeration Engineers at stores if required
- To provide technical support to Refrigeration Engineers
- To ensure the PPM schedule is completed within agreed timescales and all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and to the laid-down procedures.
- To ensure under performance on KPI’s is understood and action plans are in place appropriate
- To support regional teams on all technical, people and FM process issues
- To manage Refrigeration Engineer overtime absence, holidays and on call rota’s for the region
- To carry out reviews on quality and Health & safety and take action on non-compliances
- To complete specified reports and take action on any issues raised
- To audit FM documentation and take action on any non-compliances
- To monitor the Facilities Logbook and take action to ensure correct completion of outstanding Refrigeration items.
- To deal promptly with all Help Desk calls and ensure that the issues are resolved effectively, escalating where necessary to the appropriate management level in City and ASDA
- To attend Store Project, Trial, Renewal and Remodel Meetings when appropriate, ensuring adequate support from others on specialist issues.
- To complete and monitor all necessary reports on the performance of team members, and take action on unsatisfactory performance
- To be fully aware of the Company’s HR procedures and use them to deal with HR issues up to the specified level
- To participate in the recruitment and selection process of Refrigeration Engineers
- To ensure that Refrigeration Engineers cell meetings are held within each region.
- To regularly communicate with the Asda store team on all FM activity.
- To work with the Technical Training Team if required to identify the training and coaching needs of new and existing Engineers
- All work will be completed to the highest standards in an efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst complying with the laid-down Company Health and Safety policy.
- To carry out all tasks assigned within the allotted time period to the satisfaction of the company and client.
- To be proficient in the use of written and verbal communication, report writing and recording procedures.
- To attend training courses as and where necessary and to ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical and business developments.
- Ensure all mandatory Evolve on-line training modules are completed.
- Manage refrigerant reports and usage within the region
- To comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act and the company’s Health and Safety Policy at all times.
- To work with company and ASDA colleagues to ensure that laid-down standards of quality are maintained at all times.
- To represent the company in a professional and competent manner at all times and develop good working relationships with City and ASDA colleagues.
- To comply with any other reasonable request or instruction from the City Management Team

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**

**ESSENTIAL**
- City & Guilds/NVQ in Refrigeration Engineering.
- City & Guilds 2079 Refrigerant Gas Handling.
- F-Gas NVQ Level2/3
- Ability to maintain/ repair a range of Refrigeration systems and associated plant.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Helpful/ friendly manner
- Customer focused
- Self-motivated
- Current driving licence
- Ability to distinguish colours to the standard required for Refrigeration maintenance and repair
- Willingness to work flexible hours

**DESIRABLE**
- GCSE standard
- Recognised Electrical qualification.
- Package Water chiller qualification/experience.
- Previous Supervisory experience.
- Working for/ with a major Service provider.
- Retail refrigeration experience.
- Broad base knowledge of alarm systems and controllers.
- Ability to maintain/repair AC/ Chill Water plant to recognised standards
