**Leonard Cheshire will soon be opening our exciting new service The Glebe in Alfreton which will be a supported living service for those with L earning disabilities.**

As a brand-new service, we want to build a team focused on honesty, positive communication and of course putting the customers needs first.

**The Role
As a Support Worker you will support our customers with learning disabilities, out and about in the community, with activities within the home and helping their specific needs, such as managing medical conditions, behaviour support and embracing their culturalneeds.

Whilst previous experience in care work or support would be helpful it is not necessary, we provide training and qualifications, all you need is a passion for supporting others, be keen to learn and have effective communication. We offer two rates of payfor this role, £9.87, or £10.82 per hour for working within the high needs team. Suitability will be assessed at interview.

**Duties
Some of the duties you will be performing as a Support Worker include;
- To support customers with their physical care, personal hygiene needs and daily life tasks & skills as required by their person-centred plan (PCP), ensuring that their independence is preserved and developed as far as possible and affording appropriatelevels of privacy and dignity.
- Where required, to escort and assist disabled people both in and around the Service setting, as well as to accompany them to other external events and appointments in the wider community.
- To help disabled people with mobility and other physical or sensory disabilities and to assist in the use of support aids and personal equipment.

**The Service**

The Glebe, Alfreton, is being built to our needs, there will be 17 individual flats, of which 6 will be for enhanced support, with all amenities, an office. We will be supporting Adults with Learning Disabilities live their lives as independently as possible.
