An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and well motivated individual to work with the Business Informatics Data Quality Team as a Senior Data Quality Officer covering both Ipswich and Colchester Patient Administration Systems.

The post holder will have extensive experience in working with Lorenzo and/or Careflow, experience of additional clinical systems is desirable. This is a fantastic opportunity to further your career.You will also have excellent communication skills with the ability to convey information in an easily understood way.

Although you will be required to mainly work remotely there will be an expectation to come onto Ipswich/Colchester Site usually once a week.

You will be responsible for managing Data Quality related issues and supporting the Data Quality Team to improve and maintain the data held on the Trust’s Patient Administration Systems.

You will oversee regular data quality and manage adhoc requests for data corrections from around the Trust.

**Responsibilities**:
Data Quality
- Proactively manage Data Quality related Issues
- Ensuring the quality of data collected by the Trust’s information systems is of the highest possible standard, in accordance with established NHS guidelines
- Overseeing the weekly Demographic process ensuring that all returned Patient Demographic updates (including NHS numbers, registered GP’s, addresses, postcodes, dates of birth, dates of death) are reflected on Lorenzo and Careflow; our current Patient Administration Systems (PAS).
- Ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of information on the Trust’s information systems in order that the organisation fulfils its contractual requirements and offers the highest standards of clinical care to patients.
- Utilising various tools such as SQL and Power Bi to produce and analyse data quality reports, ensuring information produced is credible and adheres to NHS Data Standards.
- Attending and participating in the Trust’s Data Quality Forum, presenting and responding to queries as required.
- Escalating any data quality problems encountered using the appropriate ‘Data Quality Incident’ form, to the Service Manager, Finance, HR and Nursing & Quality as appropriate.
- Assisting the Trust in achieving targets relating to the strategic objectives, by liaising with staff throughout the Service Division. Ensuring that data is processed in accordance with the NHS Data Manual, updated DCBs/ISNs, the Data Protection Act, Caldicott Principles and the NHS published guidelines to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Identifying training and development needs of staff around data quality issues and flagging to the Training Team and Line Managers when necessary.
- Liaising with the training Team and contributing towards, as needed, delivery of data quality training materials for staff involved with data collection.
- Using own judgement to resolve complex data quality issues, correcting PAS as appropriate and communicating with other teams responsible for affected downstream systems where necessary.
- Investigation of complex data quality enquires, providing assistance and advice as required.
- Responsibility for the validation of patient activity from financial reports against clinical system activity, ensuring that the report and outcomes are prepared/provided for commissioning deadline and committee meeting cycles.
