**The Post**

The College is seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated Head of Department to lead and manage the highly successful Art, Design and Photography Department.

The post is available from 1 September 2025 on a permanent, full or part-time basis (80.95% to 100%).

Our ideal person will be able to demonstrate a track record of success in delivering the highest standards and achieving outstanding results.

The post would equally suit an experienced Head of Department or a teacher looking for their first management role.

**The Department**

The Department is housed in specialist facilities in the Visual Arts Building. The team consists of seven other members of teaching staff who work in a collaborative style, contributing to central teaching resources. Students regularly progress onto university courses for Fine Art, Graphic Design, Fashion and Theatre Design, 3D Design, Digital Animation, Games Design, Architecture and Interior Design, Fine Art Conservation, Advertising and Packaging and Marketing and Branding, as well as apprenticeships.

**Courses**

The Department offers the following courses:

- A Level Art (Fine Art)
- A Level Graphics
- A Level Textiles
- A Level Photography

**Salary**

The salary for this post is up to £53,636 per annum (pay award pending).

The full-time teaching contract is 21 hours per week. Heads of Department received two periods of remission (2 x 60 minutes) for their responsibility. New Heads of Department receive an additional two periods of remission during their first year as part of the College’s induction programme to provide them with extra support in their role.
