Our Early Careers team are looking for an Advisor to support the coordination of the graduate and student schemes. Providing Graduate Programme expertise, operational coordination, and administration of STFC Graduate and Student Schemes, you will work with the Senior Graduate Advisor and our L&D Colleagues to plan, continually improve and implement the graduate and student development programme.
**Role Responsibilities**
Graduate Programme Expertise
- Provide operational coordination and administration of STFC Graduate and Student Schemes
- Work with the Senior Graduate Advisor and learning and development colleagues to plan, continually improve and implement the Graduate and Student development programmes, ensuring that training and development is of consistently high quality and supports the progression of the Graduates towards professional registration as appropriate
- Effectively represent and promote the schemes to potential recruits and partner organisations
Manager/Supervisor/Graduate/Student Support
- Provide effective pastoral and developmental interventions to Graduates and Students, with a focus on those based at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Didcot, ensuring high levels of engagement and retention on each programme
- Provide pro-active and responsive advice, guidance and support to Managers, Supervisors, Graduates and Students
Project Delivery
- Support the Early Careers Resourcing Team with attraction and recruitment activities (including interviewing and assessment centres)
- Plan and deliver keep-in-touch and induction activities
- Support with the delivery of a variety of projects, ensuring compliance with all health and safety and safeguarding policies
- Support graduates with 3-month placement opportunities, including working with external and/or overseas organisations HR and Legal departments to ensure correct processes have been implemented according to policy
- Support the Public Engagement Team with the operational delivery of the Early Careers Engagement (ECE) Programme
- Support Graduate Pathway Governance Group meetings working with governance group members and the pathway Strategic Lead to evaluate the graduate programme and training provision for graduates in a specific pathway and following-up on actions agreed
- Participate and attend as appropriate our annual outward-bound week, which consists of a 4-day Residential Trip to Skern Lodge, Devon, our annual awards evenings, and oversee the effective delivery of training at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Didcot.
Our Advisers come to us with diverse skills developed in previous roles including apprenticeships, local authority, education and HR. You may have formally or informally line managed or supervised those in their early careers; have delivered Information Advice and Guidance (IAG) or have experience in a mentoring role. We are looking for passionate people to support our apprentices and the organisation across its many diverse activities.

- The following criteria will be assessed as indicated at shortlisting (S), at Interview (I) or both (S&I)_
Essential:
- Knowledge, understanding and experience of Graduate and Student programmes in the UK (S&I)
- Experience of designing and/or delivering learning and development interventions and/or events (S&I)
- Experience of managing/supporting graduates/students and/or those early in their career (S&I)
- Strong organisational skills with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail (S&I)
- Excellent teamwork skills with an ability to develop strong, collaborative relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders (S&I)
- Strong oral, written and presentation skills with the ability to convey information to a diverse audience of stakeholders (S&I)
