Head of Infrastructure

**Head of Infrastructure & Operations (Interim)**
- Here, at schuh we are embarking on some exciting changes with our IT systems. We are looking for experienced IT leaders to help us - taking the best of what we have, and transforming our IT landscape to make us fit for the future.
- **THE PERSON**:

- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with technical and non-technical audiences
- Able to inspire and lead an established team through significant change
- Experience of building and managing teams of infrastructure specialists
- Experienced IT leader
- Experience of transformation of people, process and technology
- Able to partner across multiple teams, whilst still delivering required change
- Experience of enterprise technologies, with particular focus on IT networking and infrastructure within retail industry
- Holder of industry recognised qualifications (such as ITIL)

**MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Infrastructure Management**
- Create appropriate structure and processes to ensure that IT infrastructure is effectively delivered, monitored, maintained, supported and refreshed
- Develop appropriate IT infrastructure management capabilities to meet the service levels, business needs and agreed roadmap changes over time
- Ensure that appropriate IT security operational processes are defined and operated consistently
- Define and operate appropriate processes to manage IT infrastructure assets and configuration
- Ensure that adequate IT risk management is undertaken. Including
- Business continuity/ IT disaster recovery planning & operation
- Infrastructure capacity management
- Backup & restore plans and operation
- Includes end user compute, on premise and cloud IT infrastructure across the entire enterprise

**Transformation**
- Develop and implement practices and processes to effectively manage the IT infrastructure landscape as it undergoes transformation
- Work collaboratively with the IT leadership team to ensure IT infrastructure management processes and governance is aligned to support and change processes
- Embed IT infrastructure management practices within IT function and key (technical and non-technical) stakeholder groups
- Support recruitment of longer-term successor in role

**IT Leadership & Management**
- Play active role within IT leadership team to improve capability maturity and drive transformation
- Engage and inspire own team and wider IT function throughout the transformation
- Plan IT infrastructure resource needs
- Source and recruit required IT infrastructure resources
- Support IT Procurement (including supplier management & governance)
- Play active role in identification and management of IT risks (including cyber security)
- Create, and support operation of, personal development plans and activities for members of the IT team

**Service Management**
- Ensure IT service is delivered in line with business needs
- Create appropriate structure and processes to deliver IT support across all sites and business units (1st, 2nd and 3rd line)
- Ensure that service delivery practices and process are defined and implemented
- Using industry standards (ITIL) and tailored to the environment
- Engaging stakeholders whilst delivering changes to improve scalability, resilience and sustainability of IT service
- Ensure that core processes are adequately defined and consistently operated:

- Incident management
- Capacity management
- Backup/Restore
- IT Change & release Management
- Problem management
- Major incident management

About the location
- Neilson Square is the home of our original warehouse and distribution centre, as well as many head office functions. Situated in Livingston, our site is in-between Edinburgh and Glasgow and very easily reached by car and public transport.
