Fund Management Associate

**Role Overview**:
This permanent Fund Management Associate (FMA) role will include provide general administration, governance and reporting support for the public and private markets teams as the Nest portfolio grows both in scale and complexity. The Fund Management Associate will report jointly to the Head of Public Markets & Real Estate and the Head of Private Markets, with ultimate line management from the former.

The Nest current portfolio is constructed of 28 mandates or funds run by 17 different 3rd party managers. Both the public and private market segments of the portfolio are set to continue to evolve and expand in the coming years, with new managers, mandates and asset classes. Nest is in the process of refining its approach to manager monitoring, portfolio construction and risk management and the fund management associate will play a key role in helping to ensure all relevant information is recorded, collated and reported in a timely and accurate manner to ensure that all stakeholders have the visibility of the portfolio they need to undertake the portfolio management function. The associate will also engage directly with 3rd party managers and may become involved in fund manager research and evaluation as the role evolves.

Nest Invest is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). For the role holder, this means working in a regulated entity, and being required to adhere to certain rules and behaviours included in the FCA’s Code of Conduct (COCON), specifically the individual Conduct Rules defined by the FCA.

**Directorate/Department Overview**:
The Nest Investment team is responsible for investing members’ contributions in order to grow their retirement pots over the long term. The responsibilities of the team include:

- Asset Allocation and portfolio risk management
- Manager selection and monitoring
- Investment Strategy
- Investment Communication
- Fund Administration
- Investment technology and financial modelling
- Development of the investment proposition

The Public and Private Markets teams, sit within the investment team and are responsible for managing the scheme’s investments in a range of different mandates managed by external fund managers in both listed/public markets such as global equity and bonds, and private markets such as infrastructure and private equity. The public and private market teams’ key responsibilities are asset class research, selection of new managers/ asset classes and monitoring of existing managers. Additionally, alongside the risk management and long-term investment strategy teams, effecting the scheme’s dynamic asset allocation strategy.
