We work in partnership with We Are With You to form the Community Drug and Alcohol Service (CDAS) in Stoke on Trent and this is an exciting opportunity to be part of this new innovative service.
**About the Role**
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team based in Stoke on Trent, the primary purpose being to support our service users to acquire the skills and tools to sustain their recovery independently following exit from the service. This will be achieved through:
- Utilising case managements skills to provide coordination of interventions and activities to empower the recovery of individuals accessing SCDAS with an identified need of the use of non-opiate substances. This may include clinical treatment and wider health and social care support.
- Delivering interventions to motivate Service Users to achieve their person centred goals with a focus on achieving sustained recovery within the community in a group or one to one setting.
- Working alongside the group work facilitator to co-ordinate activities and workshops that meet the needs of clients who access the service with an identified need of the use of non-opiate substances.
- Proactively engage and support families and carers in Service Users recovery journeys.
- Understand individual’s barriers to engagement and reasons behind presenting behaviours.
- Work collaboratively with external partner agencies to provide support to Service Users that meets their needs through all stages of their individual recovery journey

- based, outcome focused approach to promote Service Users and Communities to take responsibility for health, wellbeing and recovery
In order to be successful you will require:
- A sound working knowledge of the models of recovery within substance misuse services in practice
- Knowledge and understanding of harm reduction, and how this relates to substance misuse
- Understanding of the cause and effects of substance use on clients, families and the community.
- Supporting clients on a 1:1 basis and in a group setting
- Working in partnership with other agencies to achieve the best outcome for the client and the “wrap-around” services in the local area.
- Supporting service users in centre or community based settings working with Multi-Disciplinary Teams
- Completing assessment of needs, support planning, implementing & evaluating holistic person centred risk / aftercare plans to a high standard.
- Knowledge of the Policies and Procedures relating to Safeguarding of children and adults at risk and how this would be implemented within the workplace
- Accurately recording evidence and information / data for individual and organisational use
- Understanding of Data Protection and how this may influence practice.
- Ability to motivate, challenge and empower individuals to achieve meaningful and sustainable recovery goals.
- Ability to quickly establish a rapport with clients in order to engage with the service
- Ability to problem solve using both your own initiative and as part of a team.
