Coventry University Group has achieved sustained growth in apprenticeships over the past 5 years, with over 2500 learners now undertaking one of our forty apprenticeship programmes. To support these learners, we are recruiting a number of new roles to joinour existing Apprenticeship Team, including Workplace Learning Advisors. If you have an interest in supporting individuals to achieve their best using coaching style conversations, whilst helping learners to take responsibility for managing their own development,then this would be a great role for you.

The Apprenticeship Team has responsibility for admissions for all new apprentice applicants, managing relationships with employer clients and overseeing all aspects of apprenticeship funding claims. This team is now going through significant expansion aswe create a number of new roles to support the continued growth of both the range of apprenticeship programmes we offer, and the number of employer clients and learners that we support.

The Workplace Learning Advisor will be to lead on progress reviews with learners and their employers, acting as the main point of contact during their apprenticeship programme. This role will also be responsible for producing and contributing to reportsrelating to learner progress, assessing the quality of the workplace learning experience and maintaining records for compliance purposes.

A background in training, coaching or mentoring, or skills developed in these areas as part of a wider role, will be required. Knowledge of apprenticeships, higher education and/or the wider education sector would be advantageous. Each Workplace LearningAdvisor will manage a dedicated portfolio of learners undertaking an apprenticeship within one of the following disciplines: Health, Social Work, Construction, Engineering, Management, HR, or Teaching, and so experience related one of these sectors would alsobe advantageous.

This role requires an organised and innovative individual with outstanding interpersonal and social skills. Tripartite progress reviews are normally carried out online, though often from the campus in Coventry, and in future these roles may involve travelto learners’ workplaces across England.
