We seek to hire a Dean of Aston Business School (ABS) to lead the delivery of the School’s strategy to ensure our success as a global leader for practice-led teaching, impactful research and enterprise engagement, benefiting students, professions, and our wider society. Aston Business School is part of an elite group of global business schools that hold the gold standard of ‘triple-crown’ accreditation from AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS. Located in the heart of Birmingham, England’s second-largest city, we are one of the UK’s leading Business Schools for support for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
This is a full-time, senior management role, with leadership responsibilities for academic and administrative staff and processes within the School. Reporting to the PVC & Executive Dean of the College of Business and Social Sciences, you will manage the School’s performance to uphold high-quality teaching and research standards and ensure the School’s continued success as a triple-accredited Business School. You will also be responsible for representing the interests of the School both internally and externally.
In your prior career, you must have made a distinctive mark in an academic institution and demonstrated excellence in research, learning and teaching or external engagement with a high level of understanding of all three. In addition, you must have extensive knowledge of national higher education policies and an understanding of University culture. You will have significant experience in people management, culture change, and financial and budgetary management.
