**Role**:Project Management Group Leader (UK/US), Drug Discovery, Permanent

**Direct report**:to VP Head of Integrated Drug Discovery (IDD) Project Management

**Hours**: Full-time, 40 hours per week

**Salary**:starting from £60,000 pa, dependant on skills and experience, excellent benefits package plus annual bonuses

**Location**: Milton Park, Abingdon, Oxford OX14 4SA, UK.

**Role and Responsibilities**

This role offers the flexibility of hybrid or office-based with the main location in the UK in Abingdon. National travel to the Alderley Park site and some international travel is also expected.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Management of multi-target, multi-site IDD programs**:

- Manage resources and materials in line with the contract (establish baseline budget) and liaise with Finance / Project Office for invoicing, ensuring all pass-through costs and license fees are recharged.
- Monitor and update the project plan for scientific activities and resource requirements and communicate any deviations to the project team/partner.
- Update internal revenue projections when project plans are updated.
- Monitor internal financial reporting to ensure accurate revenue and cost allocations across departments, then investigate any unexpected deviations.
- Accountable for invoicing and revenue recognition of all milestones (where applicable)
- Conduct a full or phased project review to ensure project deliverables are met and all financial aspects completed.

**Facilitate client project meetings throughout the overall project lifecycle**:

- Define communication flow and organise JSC and project team meetings.
- Issue a communication plan and contact matrix.
- Collate meeting slides and minutes.
- Support the project team to arrange and monitor non-routine studies at other EVT sites or external providers.

**Project Management Leadership - Lead project management team in UK/US by mentorship**:

- Be a focal point for the team and an example to follow.
- Share PM best practices and support aiming to keep PMs aligned with the highest PM Professional standards.
- Set up and lead the internal revenue review process for the IDD activities in UK/US:

- Track deviations between actual and projected revenue, chair a quarterly review meeting and capture actions.

**Supports the proposal process for new business**:

- Liaises with stakeholders for additional work scope and possible future opportunities.
- Contribute to building the proposed project plan to ensure that appropriate timelines, resources, and invoicing schedules are included.

**In conjunction with the Head of IDD Project Management, support the building of the IDD Project Management group**:

- Ensure a consistent approach across all departments to offer high-quality customer service by using approved processes and templates.
- Contributes to setting standards, producing templates and improvement initiatives to support the establishment of a globally harmonised efficient PM group.
- Identify realistic team objectives and contribute to developing a multi-year PM development plan.

**Experience, Skills & Competencies**
- A minimum of 5 years in project management including a proven experience in the management of people. Ideally, proficient knowledge of international Project Management Standards (PMI and/or Prince 2)
- Proactive and organised approach, ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
- Experience with SAP or change management would be considered a plus.
- A highly influential leader with the ability to forge strong and lasting relationships, and an approachable nature who can really support and develop their team, comfortable with leading in a matrix environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including remote interactions, and client-facing experience.
- A scientific background and understanding of the drug discovery process is an advantage.
