The service has four fully funded training positions available on Fixed Term Contract for 12 months whilst training is completed. Successful applicants will work in the IAPT service 3 days per week seeing clients for psychological therapy. On the other two days per week trainees will attend the training program that leads to a Post Graduate Diploma in CBT offered by The University of Nottingham.

This post is a Trainee post but on successful completion of the course and training period will be considered for a substantive Band 7 CBT therapist role within IAPT.

Suitable applicants for these posts will be clinical and counselling psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Psychiatric Nurses, Social Workers and Psychological Well-being Practitioners. PWPs will need to evidence that they have attained a minimum of 2 years full time post qualification experience in order to meet eligibility criteria. All applicants will need to demonstrate relevant experience in delivering psychological therapies to adult clients.

Reporting to the Locality Operational Manager, the Trainee will be responsible for providing high intensity interventions whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role. They will be involved in supporting their team to achieve service targets and in creating an environment in which excellence in clinical practice can flourish.

The post holder will work closely with other Trainees, High Intensity Therapists, clinical supervisors and leads, and Psychological Well-Being Practitioners This intensive training post will equip the post - holder to provide a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) service to clients with a range of complex problems for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective. The post
- holder will work in the service for 3 days of the week using the newly developed skills whilst attending the training programme for the other two days.
