Job Summary In this role you will support and provide a high-quality service to children and young people (and their families) experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties. This will be done through direct delivery of evidence based CBT interventions to support the recovery of young people referred to the service, utilising skills and knowledge of CBT and child and adolescent mental health practice. This work will be in accordance with clinical governance processes and professional standards. If required, you may be expected to undertake further training i.e. Supervisor’s Training Course. Main Duties To provide Cognitive Behaviour Therapy within the Core Community CAMHS Team, including assessment, formulation and intervention for children/young people as determined by need. To provide CBT consultation and support to other clinical members of the team who provide care and treatment. To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the governance of psychological therapy practice with the specialism. This could be in psychology, systemic family therapy, psychotherapy, teaching, social work, nursing, occupational health. Able to demonstrate significant evidence of working practice as a CBT psychotherapist/trainee CBT psychotherapist. To have knowledge of a range of CBT evidence based therapeutic interventions and approaches and the ability to apply them based on the child’s need. Qualifications – Desirable To maintain current specific professional and legal standards of practice in accordance with professional codes of conduct. Will take responsibility to ensure maintenance of professional registration by meeting specific professional standards and adhering to codes of practice. CBT supervisor’s course. Experience – Essential Experience of working with children and young people with mental health presentations. Evidence of continued professional development. Qualification/relevant experience in leadership and management or equivalent in health and social care management. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy clinical interventions/approaches experience in groups and/or one to one. Experience of using and interpreting ROMs. Minimum 2 years experience band 6 or equivalent. Evidence of clinical development. Collaborative working experience. Experience of effective engagement with families and carers. Experience of managerial and clinical leadership/transferable skills. Sound experience in area applied for or experience in an equivalent area. Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team. Experience of managing safeguarding presentations in children and young people. Experience of assessing, working with and managing risk. Ability to safeguard and protect welfare.
