**The Company**
Setting industry standards in new product development, the business is a renowned leader in its field and has continually developed new products and entered new markets since establishing itself. Set to continue its profitable growth pattern and increase marketshare which stems from its exceptional delivery of quality and customer service, our client is looking for a Financial Controller to make a valuable contribution to this expansion.
**The Role**
As number one in Finance, you will report directly to the Board to provide financial leadership and maximise value creation, whilst ensuring legal compliance, and managing risks to the business.
This is a newly created role for this rapidly growing, privately owned SME and it will provide the opportunity to play a key part in the on-going upwards trajectory of the business. Key responsibilities will include:
- Overall responsibility for the day to day running of finance being hands on and happy to roll up sleeves to prepare management accounts
- Develop and maintain the strategic plan, budgeting and forecasting with the ability to prepare financial plans that incorporate the key drivers in the business
- Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiation and product investment decisions
- Maintain a standard costing system to ensure accurate materials costing and price changes are tracked
- Develop and deliver best practice on all financial aspects of the business
- Maintain and strengthen the internal control environment
- Undertaking special projects as directed by the Board
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with proven experience of a working within a manufacturing / engineering environment
- Ability to share in the development and growth of both a continuous improvement and lean management culture change in a sustainable manufacturing business
- Commercial awareness; advising on the best path of value creation for the business
