Broscombe operates a fleet of vehicles, from 1.5 to 44 tons gross, including flats, curtain siders, box vehicles, and specialist vehicles, and has won numerous awards for their high-spec livery. They offer full and part load services and operate throughout the UK and parts of Europe, with all vehicles equipped with in-cab communication systems and satellite tracking.
**Role Description**
This is a full-time, 5 days a week with some Saturdays, on-site role, located in Huddersfield, HGV Mechanic. This The HGV Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of vehicles, from 1.5 to 44 tons gross, including flats, curtain siders, box vehicles, and specialist vehicles with tail lifts and lorry-mounted cranes. The day-to-day tasks will involve identifying and rectifying faults, conducting regular maintenance and servicing, and maintaining accurate records of work carried out. The role also requires working with other mechanics and transport staff to ensure that vehicles are in a roadworthy condition and able to meet customer requirements.
**Qualifications**
- Experience servicing and repairing HGV vehicles and trailers
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills, with experience using diagnostic equipment
- Able to diagnose and repair any faults in a timely and efficient manner, including engine management systems, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems
- Good knowledge of health and safety regulations and requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good communication and problem-solving skills
- Full and clean driving license with C+E entitlement a bonus
- Relevant qualification in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent)
