**About the job**
You will be responsible for carrying out clinical assessment, diagnosis and clinical management in line with both With You and National regulations, policies and procedures.
You will be eager to keep up to date with developments in the treatments that you are prescribing and help With You to develop, implement and evaluate the interventions we use with our clients. These includes:
- harm reduction; providing support and advice in relation to substance misuse
- clinics; where we assess, screen and tirage clients, advising on detoxification where appropriate
- vaccination and blood testing programmes
You will be used to working effectively as a healthcare professional, as part of a team and collaboratively with other social care contacts to deliver the best outcomes for clients.
It's not just about those people who actively engage with our service though, you will also be reaching out to those in our communities to offer proactive support and education.
**REQUIRED SKILLS**:
To be effective is this job you will:
- be at first level nurse registration OR a Registered Pharmacist (GPhC)
- have successfully completed the supplementary/independent prescriber course and hold an appropriate entry on the NMC register or GPhC register
- be able to evidence your continuous professional development
- have a successful track record of delivering nursing interventions in a community setting
- be able to deomstrate your experience of healthcase assessments, care planning and key working
- be able to evidence peer working or working within a multi-disciplinary team
- have knowledge of the issues affecting substance misusers, including the impact on their wider health
- be able to work effectively in a team environment, using collaborative and supportive approaches to your work
- have strong organisational/time management skills, able to manage competing and conflicting demands
- be comfortable and confident using IT packages
- be able to accurately gather and maintain records and information
**DESIRABLE SKILLS**:
- educated to degree level or above
- undertaken relevant postgraduate study
- qualified to perform immunisation and vaccinations
- completed a Mentorship Course/ENB 998 or equivalent for pharmacists experienced in providing supervision
- clinical experience in more than one speciality including substance misuse
- experience of devising and delivering immunisation and vaccination programmes
- trained in safer injecting techniques
- understand and are aligned to harm minimisation in drug treatment work
- experience of dealing with the physical health issues associated with injecting drug users and delivering appropriate clinical interventions
- experience of successfully delivering training to others
- proficient at dealing with difficult situations and ensuring personal safety
- understand and have experience of delivering group work
- understand solution focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and/or Motivational Interviewing
