Our team in Bournemouth are recruiting for an experienced Senior Dual Diagnosis Nurse, to join them in providing high-quality recovery care to a diverse service user group. If you are an enthusiastic and creative registered mental health nurse, we'd loveto hear from you.

The postholder will provide advice, guidance, and support to individuals with mental health, substance misuse, and homelessness issues, bridging the gap between them.

As part of this role, you will take forward a small caseload of complex cases requiring ongoing support, ensuring clinical record-keeping is maintained and that you are monitoring the effectiveness of care delivery.

It will be vital for you to develop strong and positive relationships with key stakeholders and commissioners for the continuity of service, as well as providing supervision for mental health recovery workers.

**Please note that you must have current NMC registration to be considered for this Senior Dual Diagnosis Nurse position.**

You will be a compassionate and motivated nurse, with the ability to connect quickly with the people we support, treating them respectfully and with dignity.

This is a busy team, with multiple priorities ongoing, so it's important that you are highly organised and able to manage your time effectively. You will have sound experience of comprehensive assessment of need, including risk assessments and be able toimplement and evaluate patient care and act accordingly if untoward changes occur.

Working knowledge of substance misuse and an independent prescribing qualification would be advantageous, but we are open to conversations with all suitably qualified applicants. Above all, we are looking for someone who is passionate about what we do, witha positive and engaging approach to our service users.

You will be responsible for ensuring that individuals with serious mental illnesses are assessed and have access to support and treatment.

As part of this Senior Dual Diagnosis Nurse role, you will take forward a small caseload of complex cases requiring ongoing support.

Clinical record keeping is a key component of the role, as is monitoring the effectiveness of care delivery. It will be vital for you to develop strong and positive relationships with key stakeholders and commissioners for the continuity of service.

You will also provide supervision for mental health recovery workers and bring dual diagnosis expertise with you.

**Essential Skills**:

- UK Registered Mental Health Nurse with current NMC registration
- Relevant healthcare experience working with clients affected by substance misuse
- A successful track record of providing high-quality care
- Demonstrable experience of comprehensive assessment of need including risk assessments
- Understanding of the roles, responsibilities, and structures of agencies involved in responding to drug and alcohol issues
- Ability to plan and prioritise own workload
- Ability to positively engage service users
- Ability to provide and accept feedback, support, and clinical/managerial supervision
- Ability to treat patients with respect and dignity
- Effective written and communication skills
- Ability to assess plans, implement and evaluate patient care, and act accordingly if untoward changes occurred

**Desirable Skills**:

- NMC Independent Nurse Prescribing Course (also known as a v200 or v300 course) and are registered with the NMC as an IP
- Studied to Degree Level
- Post basic study covering substance misuse and blood-borne viruses
- Qualified to perform immunisation and vaccinations
- Experience of planning and providing harm reduction initiatives and recovery solutions in a substance misuse setting
