Are you a passionate communicator? Could you support and educate staff, volunteers and the public about BHF funded research and ensure inspiring research stories are at the heart of its marketing and communications activities?
The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is the UK’s largest independent funder of research into heart and circulatory diseases. With an active research portfolio totalling over £400m, you will play a pivotal role in bringing this life saving work to life in engaging ways to all of our audiences.
**About the role**
Alongside the Research Engagement Manager, you will lead a team to communicate accurate and inspiring research stories that can be used in BHF’s fundraising and marketing campaigns.
You will lead on delivering three ongoing key activities of the team; (1) Our Talk Research initiative supporting staff and volunteers, (2) Working with, and improving the research storytelling of our fundraising colleagues; and (3) Maintaining ongoing relationships and communications with key researchers and scientists that the BHF funds.
Furthermore, the team creates online and physical resources that bring BHF’s research to life for the public and run a series of public engagement activities throughout the year, giving supporters the opportunity to hear from world-class researchers.
You will build strong working relationships with the multiple teams that the Research Engagement department works with, seeking to understand their processes and any challenges before working collaboratively to tell compelling research stories.
**Working arrangements**
This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.
At the BHF we believe in the power of being together, so our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office, at least one day each week, on average. The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.
