Receptionist (Part-time)

YMCA Brighton requires a Receptionist to join the team at Steine House, Brighton.
**Overview of role -**act as the first point of enquiry for callers, visitors or clients needing assistance. To oversee the safety and security of the project and the tenancy, call upon the on-call staff’s support where necessary, alongside undertaking some administrative duties, where directed.
- **Based**:Steine House, Brighton
- **Salary**: £10,258.56 per annum
- **Days**:Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9 am - 1 pm
- **Hours**: 16 hours in total per week
- **Annual Leave Entitlement**:25 days plus Bank Holidays pro-rata.

**Key responsibilities of Receptionist;**
Answer incoming calls on staff and clients’ telephones and transfer them / notify clients as appropriate.
Use the intercom and paging systems to relay messages to clients or staff.
Greet visitors to the building in a courteous, respectful manner and direct their enquiry accordingly.
Ensure that all callers to the building sign in and out and are made aware of health and safety information.
Assist clients with any enquiry they may make, in a professional and sensitive manner. Seek the advice, assistance and support of project staff where necessary.
Encourage clients, in a firm but diplomatic manner, to abide by the rules of the project for example, in relation to alcohol, noise, visitors or disturbance.
Report any areas of concern, regarding safeguarding, safety or security of the project or individual clients to project/supervisory staff.
Keep the reception area clean and tidy and undertake any cleaning duties specified e.g. cleaning of paintwork, walls, waste bins etc.
Undertake laundry duties when required.
Undertake administrative tasks, e.g. photocopying, making telephone calls, as required by project or managerial staff.
Telephone the Fire Brigade or other emergency services as required, or in the event of alarms sounding.

Participate in 1:1, Supervision, Appraisal, Reflective Practice and Meetings.
To undertake and complete all required training both face-to-face and online through ME Learning.
To report any concerns about the client’s well-being to a relevant member of staff, using correct workplace procedures.
To attend training, and meetings, and participate in supervision and appraisal, where requested.
Adhering at all times to Health & Safety policy, and procedures and to complete all training that is required to carry out this job in line with Health & Safety regulations.
To comply with all COSHH regulations and guidance concerning infectious, hazardous control substances at all times, this also includes PPE requirements.
To report any hazardous material/ sharps &/or anything applicable under the hazardous definition. and adhere to procedural guidelines and training on how to safely dispose of such.
Adhering to fire safety, working at heights and manual handling procedures and guidelines at all times.
To follow YMCA Brighton’s policies and procedures at all times, including, but not only, those relating to EDI, Health and Safety, Safeguarding, and Data Protection and Confidentiality. To respond to all reasonable instructions and guidance as these procedures develop further.
