We are hiring an SEN Teaching Assistant to work in one of our SEN schools in Southampton.

**SEN Teaching Assistant Role**

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit SEN Teaching Assistants to work within a Primary SEN School for pupils with special needs, such as learning difficulties, ADHD & Autism. The

**SEN Teaching Assistant - Responsibilities**
- To encourage pupils to join in with all activities and to take a full and active part in school life.
- To prepare, modify and adapt resources and learning materials for the pupil as agreed with the class teacher and other professionals.

- To assist in resolving any behavioural, social, and emotional difficulties which may arise.
- To encourage the pupil to develop a positive self-image, and to develop confidence in their abilities and communication with others.
- Personal care including toileting, feeding, and changing

**SEN Teaching Assistant - Requirements**

For this school, it is preferable for this teaching assistant to have experience of working with vulnerable or looked after children with an understanding of mental health disorders. There are no specific qualifications required in terms of Teaching Assistantqualifications but having behaviour management is desirable.

The type of person who usually gets on well in this type of environment usually comes from one of the following backgrounds: care services, prisons, youth workers, sports coaching, and psychology.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
