We are seeking a talented and experienced Principal Designer to join our clients dynamic construction consultancy team based in Edinburgh. As the Principal Designer, you will be responsible for driving forward the design process from inception to completion, ensuring that every project the client undertakes is delivered to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities for the Principal Designer:

- Take ownership of the design process, managing and liaising with the client, contractors, and project team to ensure project delivery.
- Act as a principal advisor to the client and support them throughout the design process.
- Assess design risk, safety, and health risks in cooperation with the design team.
- Work closely with safety professionals to ensure that the design takes into account health and safety considerations.
- Assist in the development and delivery of the project design and construction program, ensuring it meets the client's needs and expectations.
- Lead and develop a team of talented architects, designers, and engineers.

Key Requirements for the Principal Designer:

- A degree in Architecture or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar role working within the construction industry.
- Experience in managing and leading a design team.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Strong understanding of building regulations and health and safety regulations.
- Strong IT skills including proficiency in AutoCAD or Vectorworks, Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently and use own initiative.

- Salary of £47,500 to £52,000
